A comprehensive program.

This year’s FCSE will focus on topics including thin films and thin film systems for a variety of optical, optoelectronic, aerospace, outer-space, energy-control, biomedical, micro-system, sensor, energy and other applications; vacuum and non-vacuum deposition processes, controls and diagnostics; plasma processes and surface interactions; modeling and predictive tools to enhance coating system performance; protective tribological coatings; residual stress in films and coatings; surface and interface engineering approaches for the control of adhesion, stress and environmental stability; and life cycle analysis for surface engineering solutions. FCSE will feature invited lectures of leading experts; poster sessions; short courses; workshops on coating characterization; discussion and networking sessions as well as an exhibit.

An enlightening two-day exhibit.

The exhibit will be an integral part of the FCSE conference where the technical program participants, equipment vendors and manufacturers can connect and share the latest innovations in vacuum coating, thin films and surface engineering. The exhibit is a two-day event running on Monday June 3rd and Tuesday June 4th.

An award-winning venue.

FCSE will be held at Campus MIL at the Université de Montréal. This award-winning Science Complex, to date the largest Canadian university project, is located in the heart of the island of Montréal, where it adjoins the town of Mount Royal and forms a link between several Montréal boroughs. Montréal is a world-class destination with a mix of French roots, British heritage and a North American upbringing. A fitting location for a symposium that’s sure to be buzzing with energy like its host city.
